a failure played in stereo
Talking with Nadine after class...
Nadine: I put down "Failure to follow up on plagiarism" on our class evaluation under "principle weaknesses." I think Athena did, too. We were both amazed about that blanket e-mail that one girl sent you.
Myself: Yeah, I--wait, you got that too? What?
Nadine: She sent it to everyone!
Myself: I...what? Holy shit.
Nadine: It reminds me of when I was in eighth grade, and if I decided I didn't like something you said to me at lunch, it'd be my goal to rally as many people as possible against you by three o'clock.
Myself: That, or she doesn't know how to work an e-mail template.
Nadine: Either-or.
Talking with Athena today...
Athena: You know, on the class evaluation, I put down "PLAGIARISM IS CRAP."
Myself: Y-yeah, Nadine said something like that. I can't believe she sent that e-mail to everyone.
Athena: We're both with you on that, it sucks.
Myself: Thanks for standing up, there.
Athena: Hey, we're not gonna sit around and let those (surname) girls pick on us.
Myself: (surname) girls? They're related?
Athena: Yeah...I guess you left early that day, but they're both related to (the math teacher that gave me so much grief in journals past).
Myself: That...explains a lot.
Athena: It really pisses me off! And did you know she made up the quotes in her presentation? She didn't interview a teacher at all, she just made up what she thought she would say!
Myself: Wow. Just...wow.
Athena: I loved the part at the bottom of your response about getting her panties in a bunch, that was funny.
So, yeah. Adding to initial FAIL, we now have additional CHEATING FAIL, plus either NOT YOUR PERSONAL ARMY FAIL or E-MAIL WERK GUD FAIL, and she SELF-PWNED in front of the entire class, as apparently all of our e-mails were public.
Not a bad day's work...not a bad day's work. And the funny thing is, she really did it all to herself.
(This also explains why people seem to know me by name now. I was getting paranoid.)
