Fun with Silent Hill Origins and Megan:

Every fight ever:
Megan: (mashes the wrong button)
Travis: (strobes flashlight like crazy at enemy; gets hit in the face)
Myself: ~Dancing at the disco at the end of the world
Megan: Shut up!
Myself: ~Take me to the disco, take me to the disco
Megan: YOU SUCK

Megan: (scouring butcher shop for health drinks she might've missed, because she is in dire straits)
Myself: Wait, what's that? Looks like a--
Megan: Pipe or something.
Myself: --oh, no, it's a sausage. I was gonna say "meat tampon". I guess that's kinda true. ...Megan? Megan, are you laughing or crying?

Fun with Megan and D&D:

[00:04] Delcat42: Hey, I WANTED to have them run, but there's some sort of rule aboug acting contrary to a character's alignments, isn't there?
[00:05] seiran79: I have a hard time picturing your characters in any alignment other than "Slot Machine Pirates Wild"
[00:05] Delcat42: Is that a shot?
[00:05] seiran79: Bang.
[00:06] Delcat42: Ow.

Fun with Megan and the Internet:

[02:29] seiran79: http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/thumb/d/df/Joker_shop.jpg/517px-Joker_shop.jpg
[02:29] Delcat42: GAH WHAT
[02:30] Delcat42: WHAT THE HELL
[02:30] seiran79: And when THAT is the typical reaction to your child, DON'T PUT HIM ON THE INTERNET AND THEN ACT SHOCKED WHEN PEOPLE LOL.
[02:30] Delcat42: What IS that?
[02:30] seiran79: It's a boy with Keppen-Lubinsky Syndrome.
[02:32] seiran79: It's simultaneous abnormal bone growth and failure of adipose tissue, resulting in skin stretched way too tightly over weirdly extreme bone structure.
[02:32] Delcat42: Yeah, I can see it. Wow.
[02:33] seiran79: His parents have a big website up because he's been on Italian TV, the same way Juliana Wetmore turned into a freakshow star here.
[02:33] Delcat42: That's not LOLful, that's "oh my God by all mercy it should be dead now".
[02:33] seiran79: I repat: Don't post things like that on the internet and expect no one to be offensive about it.
[02:34] Delcat42: Jheebus.
[02:35] seiran79: Not that they *should* be, but let's be *realistic*.
[02:35] Delcat42: With an H.
[02:35] seiran79: He's also spastic and tetraplegic and retarded.
[02:35] Delcat42: I should inflict something on you now.
[02:35] Delcat42: http://img.gurochan.net/f/src/1215253972388.jpg
[02:35] seiran79: GAH
[02:35] seiran79: FUCK
[02:36] Delcat42: NOW WE'RE EVEN

ETA:

SO. INCREDIBLY. FUCKING. AWESOME.

That kid is way more interesting than he should be.

However, I do think a lot of people would present him as a strong argument for euthanisation.

As a side note, do you happen to know here I can find his parents' website?

It's a really sad situation. I believe in the preservation of belief, but I also believe in the elimination in suffering. It's especially difficult when communication problems like mental retardation are present, thus making it nigh-impossible to determine whether a person is suffering. If you grow up with pain from birth and don't know anything else, do you stop registering it as pain? Can any person really be in the right for that sort of thing when they don't experience it themselves? I read a book along those lines lately...

Mostly, though, what I believe is there are some things you don't spring without warning on your own flesh and blood at 2:30 A.M. You're an ASS, Megan |(

Erin, you've watched Outer Limits with Mom and me. Why are you forgetting their cardinal rules?

Technology = Bad

Space = Bad

Tampering with nature = Bad

Giant space vegetables = IRONIC UNFORESEEN DOOM WITH GRAVE END VOICE-OVER

I'm joking, I'm joking. This really is exciting, on a number of levels.

Although it's worth pointing out that in many of the countries where hunger is a problem, it's not because they don't *receive* food shipments. It's because shipments are stolen/held/redistributed by the warlords tearing the country apart.

seriously though, giant plants? are you not thinking the same thing as me?

It's true, but giant vegetables could ease down considerable strain on the world economy, and the less we worry about money, the more we can worry about human aid in third-world countries. I'm also quite excited about the potential to reduce total agricultural land needed, thus slowing deforestation and giving the effort against global warming a well-needed shot in the arm. Hell, if we can work this crazy science mojo on trees, we could REALLY start replenishing greenery.

What I'm mostly concerned with at the moment is that the whole thing is a hoax. It seems too good to be true.

Also mildly worried that some idiot will go "Hey, what if we take a normally large and fast-spreading plant into space? HAY KUDZU :D :):B".
